Cornocopia…Brookdale, Ann Arbor

Today was a fun set and collaboration with Sue Kelch at Brookdale, Ann Arbor. Sue played Movie hits on the piano, and I did a Cornucopia of hits with the theme of family, friends, wine and just songs I love to sing.

We played a combined two hours, and my set included acoustic covers of: Family is Family, Teach Your Children, Hey Jude, You’ve Got a Friend in Me and Cats in the Cradle.

Music is good for the soul and it invokes memories, especially for those that struggle to remember. A special request by one of the residents, I sang my acoustic version of Purple Rain. and to my absolute pleasure, the resident sang along with me.

I finished my set with some Mad Mad World and Home by Daughtry.

What a fantastic way to kick off the holiday season. I’m looking forward to our December performance here and already working on my set list.
