Saint Madness at Brookdale
Today was a solo gig at Brookdale and my theme was St. Madness, when March Madness meets St. Patrick’s Day, or songs you might hear at a sporting event and Irish music.
My one-hour performance turned into a two-hour set, when some residents showed up near the end for the first hour and were eager to hear some live music.
With a set list that included hits like Crocodile Rock, Felling Good, Sweet Caroline, and Purple Rain and some Irish music that included When Irish Eyes are Smiling, Danny Boy, My Wild Irish Rose, and my personal favorite, the Unicorn Song. It was a fun set, and invoked memories of St. Patrick’s celebrations and my Boston days at venues near Faneuil Hall Boston, like the Purple Shamrock and the Black Rose.
True to form, my songs were sung in an Irish accent with a Boston dialect, which added a unique flair to each one. I absolutely loved the set, and decided it’s a keeper for next year!
