Mother’s Day at Brookdale

It was a special day to perform with Sue Kelch for Mother’s Day at Brookdale Retirement and Senior Living Home. It was our first mother’s day performance since Sue’s mom’s passing, making all the more emotional.

Sue and I both played. She on piano, the same piano her mother played as a resident. Naturally, I played guitar and sang. My set list included: Candle in the Wind, Hero, What a Wonderful World, Let Your Love Flow, and Like My Mother Does. I also performed my original song, A Mother’s Love.

This was certainly a memorable event, made more special when a young girl danced with her grandfather while I played Let Your Love Flow. It’s one thing to connect with adults. Kids are next level and I considered that dance the ultimate compliment.

Home to rest and play my first outdoor farmers market tomorrow.
